Today one child, "Chris," told me ALL about Star Wars. I wouldn't know if he was right about ANYTHING that he said happened in the movie, but he sure had a good five minutes worth of things to tell me about R2D2, Yoda and some "life savers."
I asked one child what he was building and he said "a lighthouse." I asked him what he knew about lighthouses and he said that he had seen one on his trip to Spain. Really? You're four years old. Then he proceeded to build another building, this time, the Eiffel Tower, which he of course saw on his trip to Paris.
Lastly, I asked one child "Kaitie," where her headband was and she said she didn't know before running off, clearly not giving a damn about the headband. Another student, "Carter," however, was very concerned, telling me that "we had to sowlve a mysterwie." She and I searched and searched the playground for the mystery of the missing headband before finding it and moving on to bigger and better things. And other mysteries.
Love it. You keep writing about these rascals.
